Progress

Things are moving along. I was told to give my notice here in TX on my apartment and to travel back to Wilmington next week to find a new place to live and work a couple days to get up to speed on the new job. The only thing pending is scheduling the movers. Hope to do that any day now. WOOHOO!!!!!

Homeward Bound?!?!

It looks like I may be moving back home in the near future. Hopefully I'm not jinxing things by this post, but lots of people already know about it so why not. A few weeks ago I made my intentions of moving back home known to some people in my company. It wasn't done to threaten or ask for anything, but the reaction was very favorable. There was immediate action on their part to keep me in the company. I basically assumed I would have to find a new job to come back. To make a long story short, my old boss contacted me after my recent vacation and has a big need for my services. Things are now moving quickly. I hope to have official word this week (maybe tomorrow). I am so excited!! It looks like I may be back by mid June. Of course if things don't work out with this I still have my original plan and will pursue that enthusiastically. I think it will work out as they are actively pursuing a replacement for me here in TX and have asked for quotes from moving companies (which I have provided). Keep your fingers crossed!!

Back in Texas

I arrived back here in Texas last night. My plane was delayed, which I took as a sign that I don't belong, but finally made it. I did have one more trip highlight on Friday after my last post. It was a Claymont Steak Shop cheesesteak for lunch. Awesome!! Can't find anything like that here in Texas. My most heartfelt thanks to Doc for putting me up (and putting up with me), and to everyone for everything! I had a fabulous time with some really special people.

Wilmington Vacation

It's almost over. I fly back to Texas tomorrow after a great week of vacation back home here in Wilmington. I have had lots of fun on this trip. It started with a great Derby party. I lost money on the race and really don't care as I had a blast anyway. I've seen so many people I care about, have done my share of partying, helped various people with computer/home network issues, went to a couple racetracks, had a couple nice dinners out with special people and overall have enjoyed the trip immensely. Now I am really motivated to finish my cert testing and to find employment here so I can come back for good!

Good Quote

Just finished watching Law and Order on TV and heard a quote I really liked. It went something like this: "Democracy's the worst form of government, except for all the rest".

How true. Our system is far from perfect, but I don't want to be anywhere else.
